INTERVIEW: Lifecurse

Just a few days ago, Lifecurse from Asheville, North Carolina released a new video for their track 12:34 full of zombies and metal. I got the chance to ask Will some questions about it and the band.
Upcoming Shows: Sound it Out, Red Herring, Impale the Betrayer, Clap for Alaska and more

This Friday metalcore group Sound it Out from Forest City, North Carolina will be in Spartanburg at Ground Zero. Their sound is very clean and promising, despite the fact that they only have one song out, which you can hear here. They have honed in on that ability to blend the sound of power pop and gang vocals and screaming, I think successfully. If you like Asking Alexandria, We Came as Romans, or Of Mice & Men, then this band is right up your alley. The line-up for this show is massive. Ground Zero has really brought out a ton of styles of metal for the fans this evening.

SHOW PREVIEW: Trivium at The Handlebar

One of Orlando’s biggest, Trivium, is coming to Greenville this week. That’s right, big name metal with a reason will be playing at The Handlebar this Friday with Kelen Heller and Six and Twenty. If you don’t know who Trivium is, I imagine you live in some sort of war-era paranoia-fueled bunker and I’m sorry.

INTERVIEW: Islander
by Corey McDaniels

If you’ve been to rock shows around the upstate then you might recognize members of a young upstart band in Greenville known as Islander. Vocalist Mikey Carvajal has been in a number of upstate bands including Before Normandy which at one point also included Islander guitarist Andrew Murphy and bassist Chris Doot. They’re a fairly new band but I have a feeling from what they’ve been up to so far that it won’t be long before they’re a pretty widely recognized name in this area. Islander have one of their first shows coming up with Divide the Sea, Transient, Homefront, and Images on Halloween night at the Channel in downtown Greenville, so I sat down with Mikey, Chris, and their drummer Eric Frazier to talk with them a little about that and some other cool things they have going on.
